BBI Practice
BALANCED BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION
BBI Therapy Practice provides evidence-based ABA
therapy, behavioral coaching, and individualized
support for children, teens, and adults in the
Netherlands — with a deep understanding of the
Dutch Caribbean community and the role that
intergenerational trauma plays in learning
and behavioral challenges.
Every person has the capacity to grow, change,
and break through their mental barriers to reach
their fullest potential. Sometimes the path there
needs a guide.

OUR APPROACH — EVIDENCE BASED AND INDIVIDUALIZED
Because no two people carry the same history,
trauma, or learning profile — every plan we
create is individually designed.
We draw from the most effective evidence-based
methods available for learning disability support
and behavioral change in the Netherlands:
Applied Behavior Analysis — ABA Therapy
The most research-supported approach to behavioral
change and learning disability support worldwide.
We use ABA therapy to break down barriers, build
academic and social skills, and create lasting
positive change in behavior and daily functioning.
Naturalistic Intervention
Learning happens best in real environments.
We bring ABA therapy and behavioral support
into the context of your child's actual life —
at home, at school, in the Dutch Caribbean
community setting.
Parent and Family Training
We train parents to create deep connections and
high quality interactions with their children.
The most powerful behavioral support happens
at home with informed and empowered parents.
Social Skills Development for Dutch Caribbean Youth
Building the confidence, communication, and
community skills every young person needs to
navigate Dutch education and society successfully —
while staying rooted in their own cultural identity.
Executive Functioning Support
Planning, organizing, focusing, prioritizing,
and following through — executive functioning
skills that change academic and life outcomes
when developed with the right support.

ASSESSMENTS WE USE
- ABLLS — Assessment of Basic Language
and Learning Skills
- VB-MAPP — Verbal Behavior Milestones
Assessment and Placement Program
- HELP — Hawaii Early Learning Profile
- Functional Behavior Assessment
- Individual goal planning and progress tracking

WHAT TO EXPECT — STEP BY STEP
Step 1 — Initial consultation
We talk. You share your situation, your child's
challenges, your goals. We listen without judgment
and without labels.
Step 2 — Individual assessment
A thorough assessment of the individual's unique
strengths, learning profile, behavioral patterns,
and needs using validated assessment tools.
Step 3 — Individualized support plan
A custom ABA therapy and behavioral support plan
using evidence-based methods chosen specifically
for this person — not a generic program.
Step 4 — Implementation in real settings
We work together — therapist, individual, family —
to implement the plan at home, at school, and in
the Dutch Caribbean community context.
Step 5 — Review, measure, and adjust
We track progress and adjust the plan regularly.
Growth is not linear and your plan should never
be rigid.

SERVING THE DUTCH CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY
BBI Therapy Practice understands that for Dutch
Caribbean children and adults in the Netherlands,
learning challenges and behavioral barriers often
carry the additional weight of cultural identity
confusion, intergenerational trauma, and the
experience of navigating a Dutch system that was
not designed with them in mind.
Our therapy approach holds all of this — the
learning disability, the cultural identity, the
family history, the colonial background — and
works with the whole person.
